London Buses route X140 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running Limited Stop between Harrow and Heathrow Airport Central, it is operated by London Sovereign.


History

Route X140 commenced operation on 7 December 2019 between Harrow and Heathrow Airport Central via South Harrow, Northolt, Yeading, Hayes and Harlington Corner. The route provides limited-stop service between Harrow Bus Station and Heathrow Airport Central Bus Station partly replacing route 140. The route was initally operated by Metroline using existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.

On 4 September 2021, the route passed to London Sovereign operating from their Harrow (SO) and Parr Road (CP) garages temporarily using existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs. At the same time, a cross-link with route 698 was introduced.

On 30 November 2021, Enviro 400 City bodied BYD DDs were introduced alongside the existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.

On 21 Febuary 2022, Wright SRM bodies Volvo B5LHs were introduced alongside the existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs and Enviro E400 City bodied BYD DDs.

On 10 March 2022, the route was converted to full Enviro E400 City bodied BYD DD and Wright SRM bodied Volvo B5LH operation.
