London Buses route X140 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running Limited Stop between Harrow and Heathrow Airport Central, it is operated by London Sovereign.


History

Route X140 commenced operation on 7 December 2019 between Harrow and Heathrow Airport Central via South Harrow, Northolt, Yeading, Hayes and Harlington Corner. The route provides limited-stop service between Harrow Bus Station and Heathrow Airport Central Bus Station partly replacing route 140.

Route X140 runs every 12 minutes from Mondays to Saturdays and every 15 minutes during the evening and all day on Sundays. An overnight service is provided between Harrow and Heathrow Airport by new night bus route N140.

On 4 September 2021, the route passed to London Sovereign RATP operating from their Harrow (SO) garage temporarily using existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.

On 30 November 2021, Enviro 400 City bodied BYD DDs where introduced alongside the existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs.

Existing Wright SRM bodied Volvo B5LHs will be introduced alongside existing Wright Eclipse Gemini 3 bodied Volvo B5LHs and Enviro 400 City bodied BYD DDs from TBC.

The route will be converted to full Enviro 400 EV City bodied BYD DD Electric and Wright SRM bodied Volvo B5LH operation from TBC.
