London Buses route E6 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Greenford and Bulls Bridge, it is operated by Metroline.
Route E6 commenced operating on 21 July 1990 between Hayes Station and Greenford Station via Coldharbour Lane - Yeading Lane - Willow Tree Lane - BRoadmead Road - Ruislip Road - Greenford Broadway - Greendord Red Lion - Greenford Road as a Monday to Saturday service. The route was introduced to mainly replace withdrawn route 274. The route was initially operated by CentreWest from Hanwell (HL) garage using Wright Nimbus bodied Renault S75 minibuses.
On 28 November 1992, the route was diverted in Yeading to serve Tesco's.
On 27 March 1993, Hanwell (HL) garage was announced closed, and the allocation was transferred to the new Greenford (G) garage. at the same time, the route was withdrawn between Greenford Broadway and Greenford Station and all service was rerouted via Ferrymead after 0900.
On 24 May 1997, the route was retained by CentreWest and the route was converted to low floor operation using Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs. At the same time, the route was extended from Hayes to Bull's Bridge Tesco via Cranford Drive, and evening and Sunday services were introduced.
On 25 May 2002, the route passed to Wings Buses from their Hayes (WS) garage with Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs. At the same time, it was extended again to Greenford Station and re-routed via Ruislip Road, route E10 taking over the Ferrymead Gardens section.
On 30 March 2004, the route was included in the sale of Wings Buses to Tellings-Golden Miller.
On 17 June 2005, the route was included in the sale of Tellings-Golden Miller to Travel London.
On 7 July 2007, the Marshall Capital bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were replaced by brand new 8.9m Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
In 2008, the 8.9m Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts were replaced by brand new 10.2m Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
On 26 May 2012, the route was retained by Metroline.
In June 2012, the Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts were replaced by MCV Evolution bodied MAN 12.240s.
In November 2013, Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts were reintroduced.
On 11 June 2016, the allocation was transferred to Greenford (G) garage and the route was converted to full Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Dart operation.
On 27 May 2017, the route was retained by Metroline.
