History[]
The E routes were created on a new flat fare system in London, all of the E routes served Ealing except E5 and E6 do not serve Ealing at all.
Route E5 commenced operation on 26 November 1988 between Greenford Red Lion and Havelock Estate via Greenford Road - Fleming Road - Longridge Lane - Edison Drive - Telford Road - Dormer's Wells Lane - North Road - Thurston Road - Allendale Avenue - Dormer's Avenue - Denbigh Road - Lady Margaret Road - Southall - Southall Station - Featherstone Road - Western Road - Havelock Road - Hunt Road - Hillary Road - Gregory Road. The route was sponsored by the London Borough of Ealing. The route was introduced to replace the Havelock Estate section of Route 105. The route was initially operated by CentreWest from their Hanwell (HL) garage using Reeve Burgess bodied Mercedes Benz 709Ds.
