London Buses route 609 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Hammersmith and Mortlake, it is operated by Metroline.
Route 609 commenced operation on 30 October 1999 between Mortlake and Harridan School via Barnes Pond - Castilian - Lonsdale Road. The route was initially operated by Armchair from their Brentford (AH) garage using Alexander ALX200 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs. The route was introduced the school service on route 209.
On 21 August 2004, the route was retained by Armchair.
On 6 January 2007, the route was included in the sale of Armchair to Metroline.
On 20 August 2011, the route was retained by Metroline with Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs introduced.
On 1 July 2012, the Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs were replaced by Alexander Dennis Enviro 200 Darts.
The route will pass to London General operating from Putney (AF) using brand new Wrightbus StreetLites from 17 August 2019.
