London Buses route 333 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Tooting Broadway and Elephant & Castle, it is operated by London General.
History[]
Route 333 commenced operation on 25 January 2003 between Tooting Broadway and Elephant & Castle stations via Kennington Park Road - Kennington - Brixton - Streatham Hill - Streatham - Mitcham Lane - Southcroft Road. The route was initially operated by London General from their Stockwell (SW) garage using Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs. The route was introduced to replace the withdrawn section of route 133 between Streatham and Tooting.
On 8 March 2008, the route was rerouted between Oval and Brixton via Stockwell.
On 23 January 2010, the route was retained by London General using Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B7TLs.
In 2013, Alexander Dennis Enviro400Hs were introduced alongside the existing Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied B7TLs.
On 21 January 2017, the route passed to Arriva London operating from their Brixton (BN) garage with brand new Enviro400H City bodied Alexander Dennis E40Hs introduced.
On 20 January 2024, the route passed back to London General operating from their Stockwell (SW) garage temporarily using existing MCV eVoSeti bodied Volvo B5LHs. At the same time, the PVR was reduced from 16 to 15.
The existing MCV eVoSeti bodied Volvo B5LHs will be replaced by brand new Enviro400 City EV bodied BYD D8UR-DDs from Summer 2024.
