. London Buses route 278 is a future Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Ruislip and Heathrow Airport Central, it will be operated by Abellio London.
History
Route 278 will commence operation from 7 December 2019 running between Ruislip Station and Heathrow Airport Central via Ickenham, Hillingdon, Hayes and Harlington. It will replace the southern section of route 140. The route will run the full length of Long Lane in Hillingdon, and will provide new orbital links from the area to Hayes and Heathrow. The route will be operated by Abellio London from their Hayes (WS) garage using Enviro 400 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E40Hs.
