London Buses route 278 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Ruislip and Heathrow Airport Central, it is operated by Abellio London.
History
Route 278 commenced operation from 7 December 2019 running between Ruislip Station and Heathrow Airport Central via Ickenham, Hillingdon, Hayes and Harlington. It replaced the southern section of route 140. The route runs the full length of Long Lane in Hillingdon, and provides new orbital links from the area to Hayes and Heathrow. The route is operated by Abellio London from their Hayes (WS) garage using Enviro 400 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E40Hs and Enviro 400 MMC bodied Alexander Dennis E40Ds.
