London Buses route 203 is a Transport for London contracted bus route in London, England. Running between Hounslow and Staines, it is operated by London United.

History

Route 203 commenced operating on 21 February 1951 between Hanworth and Hounslow Central Station via Powder Mill Lane - Percy Road - Hall Road - Worton Road - Bridge Road - Hounslow High Street. The route was initially operated by London Transport from their Hounslow (AV) garage STL class double deckers.

On 25 July 1951, the route was revised in order to operate from Twickenham station to Hatton Cross via Hounslow West station.

On 3 December 1952, the route was extended from Hatton Cross to Bedfont Green and Staines via Stanwell.

On 26 September 1970, the route was withdrawn between Twickenham and Hounslow.

On 19 July 1975, the route was diverted in order to serve the new Hatton Cross station.

On 28 January 1978, the route was extended from Hounslow to Brentford.

On 9 August 1986, the route passed to Westlink operating from their Hounslow Heath (WK) garage.

On 10 August 1991, the route passed to London Buslines operating from their Southall (LB) garage and was withdrawn between Hounslow and Brentford.

In March 1996, the route was included in the sale of London Buslines to CentreWest.

On 31 August 1996, the route was retained by CentreWest and a Sunday service was introduced.

On 1 September 2001, the route passed to Tellings-Golden Miller operating from their Fulwell (TF) garage using Plaxton Pointer bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

On 17 June 2005, the route was included in the sale of Tellings-Golden Miller to Travel London.

On 2 September 2006, the route passed to London United operating from their Hounslow (AV) garage using Plaxton Pointer 2 bodied Dennis Dart SLFs.

On 3 September 2011, the route was retained by London United with brand new Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaros introduced.

On 3 September 2016, the route was retained by London United.

On 1 September 2018, the route was temporarily converted to double deck operation using existing Scania OmniCitys.

In October 2018, the route was converted back to single deck operation using existing Mercedes-Benz O530 Citaros.

In April 2019, the route was partially converted back to double deck operation using existing Scania OmniCitys.
